Just a little something I found. I have a cheap chinese PS3 gamepad (“SZMY-POWER CO.,LTD. GAMEPAD 3 TURBO”, not that it would say much though), which is properly recognized by the system, but not Steam. It turned out, the problem is with the device’s permissions. For some unknown reason Steam and some games require joystick device to be world-writable. Pretty dumb, since there’s only need to read what it does, not to tell it what to do.
I have a serious problem with money handling. I just can’t stop spending them, especially if I’m bored. And if only I’d spend them on something I actually need, like a couple of HDD to recover data from the broken ones; or a new pair of shoes, new pants; or at least lunches, for gods’ sake. But no, I prefer to starve myself every day, to wear clothes with holes for months if not years, etc.
I guess everyone who knows me online are used to see my avatar, because I’ve been using it since at least 2009, probably even earlier. It was made for me by my friend ZiPo, I like it a lot and don’t plan to change it any time soon. In case you’re clueless, that’s an avatar I’m talking about:
Last night I received an e-mail from DZAladan. Well, actually at first he wrote me on Steam that he couldn’t send it to my server for some reason (I blame M$’s routing), so I gave him another address. His e-mail contained the following:
…thus blowing my month’s budget. Let’s count: about $400 for the bicycle, $200 for renting storage (because I don’t have any room in my apartment), $330 is what I give my parents every month. Total: $930. Considering my salary is about $800 I’m pretty much out of money this month. Although thanks to some savings I made I have enough to buy some food and pay my bills. But any regrets I could have about this decision just vanished when I sat on the bicycle and rode.
While browsing through Linux Community on Google+ like I usually do I once again saw a post with a link to an article 10 reasons to switch from WinXP to Linux, and this time around I couldn’t resist to comment it. Below is what I have to say about this topic. Let’s take a look at these reasons from my country’s PC users’ perspective. Windows is also free. You can download it from warez sites or torrent trackers, or you can ask some “computer boy” you know to install you pirated copy of Windows.
It turned out, that I need a full featured website much less than a simple blog. I don’t want to have a blog on Tumblr, but I do like their implementation of it, so I went with Chyrp, which is pretty close. But then Chyrp died, so I moved to Hugo. The blog is NSFW, as I might occasionally post some pr0n and other disturbing stuff.
